:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Amber Dennis -- Must purchase for any creative—yes, you! : After attending Lauren’s calligraphy workshop and eyeing her Instagram calligraphy account for years, I jumped at the chance to have a piece of her calligraphy insight (and fun personality) in book form. As I’ve practiced working through her written directions, I can already see improvement in my lettering skill set. The directions are clearly stated and digestible. The photographs are a great visual support to confirm that I’m following the directions correctly, as well. I stayed up all night the first day I received the book practicing my own lettering skills—I just couldn’t get enough and still can’t. I’ve been doodling ever since! This book would make a great gift for all ages paired with either a calligraphy pen or an entire set wrapped up with it. I can imagine new moms who are looking for a creative outlet outside of feeding and changing a babe to college students who are searching for ways to bring some focused peace to their days finding Lauren’s self-care approach to be a sure fire win to them, even if only for a few stolen minutes a day. It helps me learn how to connect letters and letter more fluidly than just practicing a single letter at a time would do. Overall, I think this book really has it all without being overwhelming!
